Cyberpsychology: Self and Others in a Wired World

Cyberpsychology is the study of psychological phenomena, such as emotions, behaviours, group dynamics and sense of self, that happen when engaging in online technologies. Explore theories and new research regarding the influence of online technology on behaviours and attitudes. Gain an understanding of how online technologies can influence beliefs about the self, self-presentation, self-identities, as well as social relationships. We will explore how biases and stereotypes are formed, delve into online narcissim, and examine online information sharing through a social psychology lens with particular emphasis on the 'self'.
