Requirements for Online Courses
- A modern computer with secured, high-speed Internet access OR access to a computer lab
As a registered Fleming College student, you have access to our on-campus computer labs in Peterborough and Lindsay to work on your online course. You may also access computers at any Contact North location
- Software Requirements
Most courses require Microsoft Word or equivalent software, and some courses and online platforms have additional technical and/or software requirements. The cost of your course does not include software, but some courses offer free or trial software. If you plan on completing an online course using your workplace computer, please notify your IT department, as some companies have security blocks to prevent software installation by users. - Basic Computer Skills
You will be required to save files, attach files to emails, participate in online discussion groups and, depending on your course, install software, create spreadsheets and use multi-media. - At least four to six hours per course per week
for reading and writing to complete exercises and assignments. Some courses may require more time.
How to log in to OntarioLearn.com
You will not be able to log into your course until the official start date. If you registered on or after that date, you may need to wait 24 hours before your account is activated.
Sign-in to your course as soon as possible to ensure that you are correctly registered and that the course meets your needs and learning style. After the first week of your course we do not issue a refund for any reason.
To log in:
- To access your course, log into your OntarioLearn account, or go to ontariolearn.com and select Log In.
- Enter your Fleming College email address along with the unique password provided in the email you received to your Fleming email address from noreply@ontariolearn.com

Supervised exams
Many OntarioLearn courses require you to write a final supervised exam. It is your responsibility to determine if and when you need to write your tests. You will receive this information from your instructor or you can find it on your course outline.
How to log into D2L (all courses other than OntarioLearn)
To access a course in D2L, you will need to log into the Student Portal. You will find MYCOURSES (D2L) in the left sidebar.
Please note that it may take up to 24 hours for a course to appear after you have registered. If your course does not appear in MYCOURSES (D2L) within that time, please go to the Fleming College IT Service Portal for assistance.
