Fibre Arts: Natural Dyeing on Yarn

This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
Learn to dye wool yarn with natural dyes. This course will cover scouring wool, mordanting wool, sustainably harvesting dye materials, making dye baths and dyeing wool. All materials will be supplied for this class, and you will take home several skeins of wool that you have dyed with plant material. Learn a special technique for dyeing speckled yarns as well as colour gradients and solid colours. You can even dye a sweater quantity of yarn. No previous dyeing experience necessary.
