Creating Friendly, Inclusive Neighbourhoods in our Campus Communities
Peterborough, ON (September 13, 2024) – The Great Neighbourhood Walk returns to Fleming College campus communities this month!
This student-led initiative helps connect students with residents and neighbours surrounding the Sutherland and Frost campuses.
With support from the Fleming College Student Administrative Council, the Frost Student Association, the Peterborough Police Service, the City of Kawartha Lakes Police Service and local municipalities, this event empowers students with the knowledge and resources they need to have a successful off-campus housing experience.
Teams will be walking through residential areas around the Sutherland and Frost campuses, handing out Fleming swag and information to new student residents. This information includes garbage and recycling pickup schedules, public transit routes, city maps and tips on how students can foster a warm, inclusive environment in their neighbourhood.
The Great Neighbourhood Walk takes place at the Sutherland Campus Sept. 17, beginning at 4:30 p.m. The Walk takes place at the Frost Campus Sept. 25, beginning at 4:30 p.m.
