Fleming College

Fleming College invites employees, students and the general public to attend the sixth annual Fair Trade Sale with Ten Thousand Villages, just in time for the holiday gift-giving season.

This sale, which will take place at both the Frost and Sutherland campuses, features unique hand-crafted gifts including fair trade coffee, tea and chocolate as well as jewelry, holiday decorations, home décor items, toys and textiles – all provided through a partnership with the Ten Thousand Villages store in Cobourg.

  Thursday, Nov. 22, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
• Sutherland Campus, Main Foyer

  Thursday, Nov. 29, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  Friday, Nov. 30, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Ten Thousand Villages is an organization which sells handicrafts from developing countries through its network of stores in Canada and the United States, as well as hundreds of annual Festival sales.

A program of the Mennonite Central Committee, a relief and development organization working in more than 50 countries around the world, Ten Thousand Villages is a non-profit Fair Trade Organization (FTO). FTOs are non-market products from handicraft and agricultural organizations based in low-income countries, providing consumers with products that have been fairly purchased from sustainable sources.

All proceeds from the Fleming sale are returned to Ten Thousand Villages to help improve the quality of life for people in Latin America, Africa and Asia.
