Feeding our Future: EcoHealth Conference at Frost Campus
The third year Ecosystem Management Technology students are hosting the 6th Annual EcoHealth Conference at Fleming College, Frost Campus on Thursday April 11th, 2013.
The title of this year’s conference is Feeding Our Future. The purpose of the conference is to promote sustainable agriculture for global change. Everyone is encouraged to come including students, City of Kawartha Lakes residents, community groups, stakeholders, local businesses, and anyone interested in agriculture and the future. All are invited to participate in the many workshops, fresh food markets, tours, speeches and learning.
Workshops will run from 1-5 p.m. and keynote speakers will start at 6 p.m. The Ecosystem Management students are excited to announce the keynote speakers for the conference are Bryan Gilvesy, a proprietor at Y U Ranch and leader in sustainable farming, and Eric Holt-Gimenez, the executive director of FoodFirst/Institute for Food and Development Policy.
