Peterborough ON – March 16 – Fleming College and Trent University’s partnership continues to grow with five new degree completion agreements. Students that graduate from the Biotechnology Technologist-Forensics and Police Foundations Diploma Programs at Fleming will have pathway opportunities for degree completion at Trent University. The agreements outline advanced standing that Fleming graduates will receive in a degree program, reducing the time required for degree completion by as much as two years.  Graduates of the Biotechnology Technologist-Forensics Advanced Diploma Program can now enter Trent to receive a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science or a joint major in a Bachelor of Science (Honours) or Bachelor of Arts (Honours). Graduates of the Police Foundations Diploma Program can enter Trent to receive a Bachelor of Arts (Honours), a joint major in a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and Bachelor of Arts (Honours), or a Bachelor of Science in Forensic Science. “This new agreement will ensure that graduates from two popular Fleming programs have convenient access to further education that will support the fulfilment of their career goals following graduation from Fleming College,” said Fleming’s Vice President of Academic Blane Harvey.  “Fleming graduates have an impressive record of success at Trent University, so our faculty are very supportive of these degree completion opportunities,” added Christine McKinnon, Acting Provost and Vice-President, Academic at Trent. With over 25 different agreements that provide pathways for students between Fleming and Trent, this collaboration between Peterborough’s two post-secondary institutions is unparalleled in Ontario. Approximately 200 Fleming graduates enrol at Trent each year.  Located in the heart of Central Ontario, Fleming College has campuses in Peterborough, Lindsay, Cobourg and Haliburton.
