Fleming College graduates nominated for Premier’s Awards
Fleming College is pleased to announce that six alumni are among 116 Ontario college graduates nominated for the 2015 Premier’s Awards for outstanding college graduates, within specialized award categories.
PREMIER’S AWARD—BUSINESS
J. Todd Ulrich C.E.T., Business Leadership ’98
KAM Sales Leader – Canada at GE Oil & Gas, Mr. Ulrich led GE Canada’s largest medical equipment installation and service team to record-setting results.
PREMIER’S AWARD— COMMUNITY SERVICES
Renée Hodgkinson, Social Service Worker ’98
Certified Coach with the International Coaching Federation, Ms. Hodgkinson provides executive management coaching to not-for-profit, charitable and social enterprise sectors including Me to We, an enterprise she re-branded.
PREMIER’S AWARD—CREATIVE ARTS AND DESIGN
Wanda McWilliams, Art Conservation Techniques ‘86
Director of Collections Management and Conservation at the Canadian Museum of History, Ms. McWilliams oversees the preservation of the National Collection consisting of more than four million artifacts, specimens, sound and visual recordings, works of art and archival records.
PREMIER’S AWARD— HEALTH SCIENCES
Sharon Pitawanakwat, Nursing ’90
Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA)–Thunder Bay, Ms. Pitawanakwat leads CMHA toward the implementation of recovery oriented practice that inspires hope and well-being for individuals challenged with mental health and addiction issues.
PREMIER’S AWARD— RECENT GRADUATE
Rhonda Belous, Social Service Worker ’13
Head of Development for Europe and The Middle East at the Global Network for Rights and Development, Ms. Belous ensures the effectiveness of development projects in Norway. She also helped to transform a rail car into an internet station in Jamaica where youth gain computer skills and access career counselling.
PREMIER’S AWARD— TECHNOLOGY
Bob Jameson C.E.T., Fellow OACETT, Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology—Robotics ’82
President and Chief Executive Officer of Canadian Instrumentation Services Group, Mr. Jameson commissioned both the largest hydro generator in Canada and the largest water volume pump storage unit in the United States.
All nominees from the 24 colleges in Ontario will be honoured at the Premier’s Awards gala in Toronto on November 16, 2015, where a winner in each award category will be announced.
Presented annually by Colleges Ontario, the Premier’s Awards showcase how college graduates achieve remarkable career success through positive influence and significant contributions within their respective fields while demonstrating strong social and economic support within their community.
