Fleming College leads the province in apprenticeship student satisfaction
Peterborough ON – (January 31, 2019) – Fleming College has received top marks for its apprenticeship in-school training in Ontario’s Key Performance Indictor (KPI) Student Satisfaction survey.
The KPI Student Satisfaction survey allows students to provide feedback on their in-school learning experiences as well as allow colleges to measure the success of program delivery and identify areas to improve.
Fleming College had the third highest overall student satisfaction rate in the province with 82.7 per cent of apprenticeship students very satisfied with their overall experience at Fleming. As well:
- 91.3 per cent of apprenticeship students at Fleming felt the program was giving them the knowledge and skills that would be useful for their future career.
- Fleming scored 87.3 per cent satisfaction on the overall quality of the learning experiences in their program.
- 84.1 per cent of apprenticeship students were very satisfied with the overall quality of the facilities and resources at Fleming, well above the 69.7 per cent provincial average and the second highest rate in Ontario.
“The future of work in Ontario is trades and technology, and we are very pleased to see Fleming as a provincial leader in student satisfaction among apprenticeship students,” said Maureen Adamson, President of Fleming College. “It is a testament to our state-of-the-art learning facility, the Kawartha Trades and Technology Centre, and our expert faculty. The combination produces well-trained and prepared graduates that meet labour market needs. The survey will help us further improve overall program performance and success, and point to potential areas of improvement.”
