Peterborough ON – (April 23, 2009) – Fleming College’s Board of Governors yesterday approved the selection of architectural firm Shore Tilbe Irwin & Partners to design the new Kawartha Skilled Trades Institute. The $35 million, 80,000 square-foot facility planned for the Sutherland Campus of Fleming College will create 1,000 new student spaces. The Institute will provide state-of-the-art classrooms and shops designed for college programs, industry training and secondary school classes and will offer education in areas such as carpentry, masonry, welding, plumbing and machining. The project is currently pending funding approval from the provincial and federal governments.
