Fleming College Staff Give Back
“There are so many ways to give back,” said Leona DeCarlo, in charge of events and planning with the Foundation. The initiative began after appreciation letters were sent out to the volunteers and people in the community who have contributed to the Fleming College Foundation. The staff packaged and sorted through food at the food bank’s warehouse on Friday morning and afternoon. The Food Share staff was grateful for the extra help. “The hunger problem is continually growing, year after year,” said Chris Kawalec, office manager of the Kawartha Food Share. “Volunteers are the backbone of the Kawartha Food Share and food banks everywhere,” he continued.
