Fleming College to host first annual Varsity Alumni Homecoming Weekend
Fleming College will be hosting the first annual Varsity Alumni Homecoming Weekend from Sept. 21 to 23, 2012. In the past, the Fleming Athletics and Recreation department held separate nights for Varsity Alumni in basketball and volleyball.
Past athletes from all varsity sports will come together for a fun weekend of pickup basketball and volleyball at the Peterborough Sport and Wellness Centre, a golf tournament and banquet at Baxter Creek Golf Club, and the home opener for men’s and women’s rugby at Nicholls Oval.
Fred Batley, Athletic Coordinator explains, “We would like to hold the Varsity Alumni Homecoming weekend annually to recognize all our past athletes at Fleming.”
All of the proceeds from the event will go towards scholarships for varsity athletes and Fleming varsity programs. With the participation from Fleming varsity alumni, we will continue to increase the number of available bursaries and awards, while contributing to the success of Fleming College varsity athletes.
