Fleming Serves: United Way Day of Caring
Fleming College students will put the ‘Fleming Serves’ philosophy into action on Saturday, Sept. 21.
About 50 students will spend the day volunteering for the United Way Day of Caring with five local organizations – the New Canadians Centre, the Youth Emergency Shelter, the Multiple Sclerosis Society, the Peterborough Pride Parade, and the Red Cross.
The students will gather at the Sutherland Campus at 9 a.m. The buses leave the campus at 10 a.m. to take students to the volunteer locations. The students will be volunteering until 3 p.m. that day.
The Fleming Serves philosophy is part of the college’s strategic plan to build community success, and provide business and community service learning opportunities to students.
It is the second year students have participated in the United Way Day of Caring.
