Fleming’s FastPass Helps You Save Money and Graduate Faster

Published

Peterborough, ON (November 28, 2024) – Learning happens in many ways, and in many settings – both in and outside of the classroom. Fleming College recognizes this, and offers credits towards graduating for previous academic, work, or life experience.

With FastPass, students can easily check if they are eligible for Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR). These are college credits based on prior education, work or volunteer experience, certifications and licenses, traditional or organization learning, and life experience.

“PLAR can kickstart a new student’s program by giving them credits for skills and competencies they’ve earned elsewhere,” says Sherry Gosselin, Executive Vice President, Information Technology at Fleming. “That way it shortens the duration to graduation, can reduce the money they spend, and can get them to the workforce faster.”

In addition to saving students time and money, the FastPass tool can also be helpful in deciding which program is the best fit. By simply uploading a résumé, the FastPass credit predictor can identify which program would match up best towards a diploma.

Once a FastPass administrator has identified the best matches based on the information gathered from a résumé submission, they will get in touch with the results and the opportunities available.
