Learn-Belong-Become at Fleming College’s Fall Open House

Peterborough ON – (November 10, 2010) – Discover Fleming College, its distinct campus communities, and its commitment to personalized student learning at Fleming College’s Fall Open House, Saturday, Nov. 20.

From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. that day, Fleming College will open its doors at all campus locations in Peterborough, Lindsay, Cobourg and Haliburton as well as at the Eastern Ontario Fire Academy in Norwood (12-2 p.m. only).
Prospective students, their families and friends are invited to tour the campuses and residences, meet with faculty and students and find out more about Fleming’s programs, financial assistance, and student life. Please note there will be special sessions for new Canadians, mature students returning to school, and a session for parents – What Parents Should Know

Visitors are invited to take in the many program demonstrations occurring throughout the day. These include:

•    Sutherland Campus: Police Foundations Crime Scene demonstration, Forensic DNA lab demonstrations, culinary technique demonstrations, and the nursing program’s simulated hospital ward
•    McCrae Campus (Peterborough): carpentry and welding demonstrations
•    Frost Campus (Lindsay): Arboriculture tree climbing demonstrations and Blasting Techniques blasting demonstrations
•    Cobourg Campus: Enjoy a mini-manicure from one the students in the Esthetician program.
•    Haliburton Campus: Interact with students during live art demonstrations as they work in their studios.
•    Eastern Ontario Fire Academy (Norwood): firefighting simulations
