Lots to Experience at Fleming’s Spring Open House

Peterborough ON – March 26, 2010 – Fleming College will offer campus tours, program demonstrations, and a chance to win $12,000 towards college tuition at this spring’s upcoming open house.Fleming College will once again welcome hundreds of potential students and their families on April 10, 2010, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at all campuses in Peterborough, Lindsay, Haliburton, Cobourg and at the Eastern Ontario Fire Academy in Norwood from noon to 3 p.m. Visitors can meet with faculty, students and alumni, as well as tour the campuses, and find out more about Fleming’s services including financial aid and learning supports.  Watch demonstrations from the Blasting Techniques and Heavy Equipment programs or walk through the Solar Ecology Waste Water Treatment System at the Frost Campus in Lindsay. The Sutherland-Brealey Campus offers a look inside a forensic lab, crime scene or paramedic demonstrations or a chance to taste a tasty treat from the Culinary Lab. Visitors can tour the studios and watch students work in the Haliburton Campus, or they can watch the Construction Skills student competition at the Sutherland-McRae Campus. Students interested in Fleming’s Pre-Service Firefighter Education and Training program can visit the Eastern Ontario Fire Academy in Norwood from noon to 3 p.m. for firefighting simulations, tours of the Fire Academy and a chance to meet the faculty. Information Sessions will be ongoing throughout the day at all Campuses, including What Parents Should Know, Financial Aid Options and College Education for Adults. Visitors who register for the Spring Open House are automatically entered in the Cash for College Contest.
