New programs at Fleming College
Fleming College will offer five new diploma and certificate programs to students in September 2011.
With the continued growth in skilled trades enrolment at Fleming, the college will add two new programs to this area – Plumbing Techniques and Heating, Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Technician (HRAC). Plumbing Techniques, an Ontario college certificate program, is offered in a 19-week compressed format while HRAC is offered in a compressed three semester, 45 week format.
The HRAC program features an emphasis on renewable, sustainable and alternative energy efficient solutions for indoor environments. Both programs will be offered in Peterborough.
Pharmacy Technician is a two-year diploma program that will be offered at the Sutherland Campus this fall. Graduates of this program will enter a growing field, assisting registered pharmacists in the pharmaceutical industry.
Building on Fleming’s recognized Early Childhood Education and Educational Assistant programs; the college will now offer the Child and Youth Worker program. This program prepares students to provide care and treatment for children or teens who may be experiencing a range of social, emotional, behavioural or learning challenges.
Full-time and online, the new Spa Management post-graduate certificate program is offered in three semesters and includes 12 courses and two internships. It complements Fleming College’s Esthetician diploma program, which is offered at the Cobourg Campus.
