The college offers a variety of new study areas such as children’s mental health, adult education, website design, working with dementia clients, and green business management. And Fleming’s reputable motorcycle training courses are returning – a great opportunity to learn how to ride.

Take arts courses in Peterborough through the renowned Haliburton School of The Arts (HSTA). Expanding on a pilot project last fall, HSTA will offer a variety of new workshops and courses in Peterborough including Jewellery, Abstract Painting, Felting, Portrait Sketching, Ukulele, Writing Life Stories, and The Look of Film, An Art Director Workshop.

Interested in the acting world? Try Stage Combat for actors or Acting and Auditioning for the Camera. Please note, these are both one-day workshops.

Frost Campus
Take advantage of campus expertise and take an outdoor education course such as Animal Tracks and Signs, Edible Wilds, Food Self-Sufficiency, or GPS and Wilderness Navigation. Transportation of Dangerous Goods and Restricted Radio Operator are other study options along with the Sustainable Trails or Environmental Field Skills certificate programs. Hobbyists can also try a Photography course at the campus.

Cobourg Campus
For those interested in the green energy sector, Fleming’s Cobourg Campus offers a Solar Photovoltaic System Planning and Installation Certificate. This is a 14-week program with curriculum designed to meet the criteria for the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners. Career options include solar panel and system installation, system design and technical sales.

Business owners and entrepreneurs can sharpen their marketing skills through the Social Media Marketing Series for Small Business Owners.

Haliburton Campus
To further your business skills there’s Bookkeeping for Small Business or try one of the campus business workshops such as Adobe Photoshop, Starting Your Own Business, and Write your Own Business Plan.

Outdoor courses include Wild Edibles Foraging, Wilderness Survival Skills, and Chainsaw Operator. Blacksmithing will be offered at the campus as well.

Online
To train for a new career try one of the college’s online certificates in Office Administration, Small Business Accounting, Records and Information Management, Spa Management, or Human Resources Management.

Fleming’s Leadership Development Series will help you develop valuable and essential skills. It is a certificate program centred on a suite of online courses such as Creative and Critical Thinking, Dispute Resolution, and Leadership and Career Management.
