Skilled trades programs, international students contribute to strong January intake at Fleming College
Peterborough ON – (February 11, 2015) – Fleming College welcomed 1,000 new students last month through the college’s winter intake, continuing a trend that has seen more students opting to start programs of study in January.
“We are very pleased with these strong results,” said Tony Tilly, President of Fleming College. “In a context where enrolment growth is increasingly challenging, we have met our overall targets and managed to grow in areas of strategic importance to the college.”
The School of Skilled Trades and Technology, the Haliburton School of The Arts, and the School of Justice and Business Studies all exceeded enrolment expectations.
Fleming also enrolled more international students than anticipated, with 128 new international students starting their first semester in January. There are now more than 455 international students studying at Fleming.
About half of Fleming’s 100-plus programs have a winter intake, which offers students greater flexibility and choice. Students who start in January can study through the summer and start third semester with the fall cohort.
