City of Kawartha Lakes ON – (July 16, 2015) – Fleming College’s Frost Campus will welcome 50 Stewardship Youth Rangers from Monday, July 20 to Wednesday, July 22 for environmental and natural resource sciences workshops.

Stewardship Youth Rangers from Aurora, Peterborough, Lindsay, Perry Sound, Aylmer, Bancroft, Minden and Guelph will participate in a variety of activities at Fleming College. Their itinerary includes: Outdoor Safety and Survival Skills, Wildlife Observation, Tree ID and Geocaching, Aquatic Inverts, Fish ID/Hatchery, Conservation and Environmental Law Enforcement Crime Scene, and Arboriculture Tree Climbing, among others.

The Stewardship Youth Ranger program at the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is a day-based, eight-week summer program that offers youth the opportunity to work outdoors on natural resource management project teams in their own communities. Through this program, youth obtain meaningful work experience, gain a deeper appreciation of their role in the stewardship of Ontario’s natural resources, and develop practical, personal and professional skills.

Monday, July 20
