Weaving - Wire Working Techniques

Course Code: ARTS2857

This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
Welcome to the twisted world of wire - where your hands are your primary tools, and the possibilities are only limited to what you can imagine! You will start with the basics - how to choose the right wire and how to use your hands to manipulate it. Once you master the fundamentals, you will learn wire weaving patterns starting with one wire and progressing to five wires and get an introduction to the ancient art of Viking knit. Then the fun begins as you start to add frames, beads and flow in your wire weaving pieces. On the final day, you will get the option to learn how to incorporate a cabochon into your wire weaving, work on one of the other course projects or create your own design.
