STL or OBJ files can be accepted into the 123DPrint software. Supports will then needed to be added to the design.
Structure Sensor
This is an iPad attachment that can create 3D scans of objects larger than 4”x4”. Not suitable for high detail.
Matter and Form V1 3D Scanner
Generate 3D models from physical items.
Maximum Object Size Height: 25 cm (9.8 in) Diameter: 18 cm (7.0 in) Weight: 3.0kg (6.6 lbs)
Scanner
With a 12”x16” scanner, hand drawn, or analog files can be transformed into digital files that then can be used in a number of ways. Large items can be seamed together in Photoshop or you can photograph with an available camera.
Viewing Light Table 4’x3’
View negatives, trace outlines, align layers, the viewing table is easy to use, just turn it on!
Roland CAMM-1 Pro Vinyl Cutter
Vinyl stencils or stickers can be used for a lot of different processes. It acts as a resist in sandblasting, glazing, dyeing and screen-printing. It also can add texture to metals when used with the rolling mill. You can use it as a sticker for wall decals, branding, gallery and display signage. With a maximum cutting area of 23” on a 24” roll, in a variety of colours; which can also be layered to create a multi-tone piece. The Centre for Making has opened up a world of possibilities and opportunities for me to grow as an artist and entrepreneur. I have been guided and nurtured through the learning processes of using complex technology to create new projects that I was previously unable to explore due to financial and time restrictions. Scott and Noelia have patiently taught me how to use the software required to pre-plan my ideas more effectively, troubleshoot tricky obstacles and re-train me as many times as it took for me to become self sufficient at it. I now feel like anything is possible if I can dream it up and I can book a slot to create almost anything imaginable. My business as an artist is transforming into something I can foresee as being sustainable. My mind is open. I'm so grateful to have these resources easily accessible in our community. Scott and Noelia are a dream team of creators who really know how to make making happen! Tiffany Howe
