Painting - From Realism to Abstraction

This course has been designated as an intermediate/advanced level. These courses may branch into more advanced technical skills, so a minimum of intermediate level of knowledge and skill is required. Please read course descriptions as they may list some skills you need to participate in the course instruction.
Learn the philosophy, psychology and process of abstraction. Master new skills through step-by-step instruction as you develop an appreciation of this art form. Using personal photographs taken from nature, historic architecture or fabric or wallpaper designs, you will frame a selected image and enlarge them as a basis for a large-scale oil or acrylic painting. Prepare to repair and fuse a broken object, transforming it into an artistic expression of rebirth. Participants will be expected to have a portfolio of images ready for class.
