This course has been designated at a beginner/intermediate level. These courses may branch into skill building beyond the beginner level, but the faculty member is also willing to take on students with no previous skills.
Paint the landscapes of Haliburton in transparent watercolour with an emphasis on capturing the light. Demonstrations of technique will provide a clear understanding of how to describe the landscape and will be balanced with opportunities to experiment. There will be solid instruction in preparatory drawing, value patterns, colour mixing, theory and composition. Working from a photographic source, we will simplify with a quick value sketch then continue to a finished watercolour. Prepare to paint two complete works each day with assistance and constructive group critique.
