This course has been designated as a teen course. The expected age range is between 13 to 17. Special consideration may be granted in certain circumstances. However, on the first day of class, we reserve the right to remove a participant from any course that does not meet the age requirements where a special circumstance was not communicated and granted. No refund will be issued.
This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
This course will introduce you to the hot shop in a safe manner while developing self-confidence, leadership, communication, teamwork skills and the basics of glassblowing. You will learn how to safely work around furnaces and reheating holes with molten glass at 2100F. Explore the possibilities of glass while you make your own sculpted and blown-glass pieces. This course will focus strictly on skills for the hot shop.
