This course has been designated as a youth/teen course. The expected age range is between 10 to 17. Special consideration may be granted in certain circumstances. However, on the first day of class, we reserve the right to remove a participant from any course that does not meet the age requirements where a special circumstance was not communicated and granted. No refund will be issued.
This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
Explore various methods used to create fbre art pieces such as quilts, wall hangings, rugs, placemats and pillows. A small quilt and placemat will be constructed and completed during the week. Learn a variety of techniques including rotary cutting, piecing, precise sewing, the use of a design wall, manipulating value and colour, machine quilting, free motion sewing and finishing techniques. Creative freedom as well as assistance in designing projects will be available prior and during class time. Please bring a familiar and reliable sewing machine in good working order.
