Explore the fascinating world of glazes and gain a deeper understanding of the chemistry and art behind ceramic surfaces. Through a combination of hands-on and theoretical techniques, gain a broad understanding of glaze chemistry and surface application in an easy to digest and engaging format. The course will cover geology, raw materials, oxides, glaze formulations, troubleshooting common glaze flaws, achieving desired glaze effects and how to read Stull's map. Learn to use glaze chemistry software, test cone 6 glazes and develop a personal glaze palette. By the end of the course, you will have a deeper knowledge and confidence to experiment with glazes in your own ceramic practice.
