Glass - Intro to Hot Sculpting: Animal Forms

This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested; however, previous experience in furnace work is required.. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
In this immersive five-day course, you will explore essential techniques in hot glass sculpting to create animal sculptures. Develop fundamental skills in hot sculpting techniques, with a focus on design, hot pick up for simple components, and bit work with a partner. This course will also cover methods of colour applications, such as powder, frit, and cane work for creating additional details on the sculptures. Bring your creativity and ideas as well as a sketch book for drawing and taking notes. Colour will be available for purchase in the campus bookstore.
