This course has been designated as an intermediate/advanced level. These courses may branch into more advanced technical skills, so a minimum of beginner level of knowledge and skill is required. Please read course descriptions as they may list some skills you need to participate in the course instruction.
In this intermediate/advanced glass blowing course, learn how to pull cane. Cane is a rod of glass that usually has a central-colored core. This is created by pulling two punties apart. Once cane has been produced, it can be used to make attractive patterns in glass vessels. In this course learn how to blow goblets and vessels with the cane you create. In addition, this course will cover the filigrane method where canes are cut into segments, arranged on a plate, and heated. A cylinder object is rolled over the plate, creating a design.
