Glassblowing - Composition & Texture Exploration

Course Code: ARTS2909

This course has been designated at a beginner/intermediate level. These courses may branch into skill building beyond the beginner level, but the faculty member is also willing to take on students with no previous skills.
Incorporate glass components into your work by exploring innovative ideas in the hot shop. Open to artists of all mediums, explore form, optics, colour, texture, light refraction and composition of glass. This is an opportunity to try installation work or continue your respective bodies of work with the addition of glass components. Explore glass without being forced to create routine objects like paper weights and cups. Over the week, try stamps, molds, found objects for texture exploration, basic blowing techniques and colour applications. The instructor will work with you one-on one to help facilitate your ideas and projects.
