Drawing & Painting - Animal Portraiture

Course Code: ARTS0996

This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
Humans have a deep connection to the animal world. Recreating them in art has been popular since humans first started to draw. This course will explore some of the endless ways that animals can be rendered on paper and canvas using a variety of methods and materials. The focus will be on watercolour and acrylic techniques but experimentation with other mediums such as coloured pencil, ink or graphite is welcome. Through instructor demonstration and individual attention and advice, you will playfully enhance existing skills or introduce new styles and techniques.
