This course has been designated as an intermediate/advanced level. These courses may branch into more advanced technical skills, so a minimum of beginner level of knowledge and skill is required. Please read course descriptions as they may list some skills you need to participate in the course instruction.
Painting experience is required to participate.
This exciting course will develop your ability to capture the likeness of any model in any opaque paint medium you comfortable working in (gouache, acrylic, water-soluble oils, and traditional oils without solvents). Starting with an understanding of composition, value studies and monochromatic paintings, you will advance to expressive paintings of the model in a full palette. Works by a variety of artists will be discussed.
