Fibre Art - Batik, Rusting & Colour Manipulation

Please note: Participants are required to have a current tetanus vaccination.
This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
Explore wax, rust, wax pastels, ink pencils, and intense ink blocks to create original designs on fabric. Learn to manipulate wax to create batik art pieces and appreciate the ease of rusting material and its transformations. Play with and enjoy the brilliance of colour and layering techniques to enhance new pieces or manipulate finished work. You will be required to bring a familiar and reliable sewing machine in good working order. Instruction is suited to all skill levels, but basic sewing machine operation abilities will be helpful.
