This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
Design and create your own art quilt. Blend conventional quilting techniques and designs with paint, ink, free motion quilting, applique, thread painting, thread sketching and discharging. Instruction will include the basic quilt making skills necessary to design, construct and quilt a unique piece from beginning to end. Explore the use of a design wall, value and colour manipulation, machine quilting, free motion and finishing techniques. Creative freedom, as well as assistance in designing pieces will be available in a supportive and encouraging environment prior to and during class time. You will be required to bring a familiar sewing machine in good working order. Instruction is suitable for beginner and experienced fibre artists.
