Course Code: ARTS1730

This course is welcome to all levels. Anyone can take these courses if interested. Beginner-level instruction will be provided for basic skills while more advanced users can work on more complex projects with instructor assistance.
Create fabulous fabric while exploring colour, pattern and texture using professional water base textile dyes. (Colour Vie). Learn techniques of hand painting, basic silk screen printing (non photo emulsion), watercolour brush and fluid washes, leaf/botanical printing, marking and stamping. These methods are ideal surface embellishment for shawls, scarves, sarongs, tablecloths, banners/signage, wall hangings and more. Paint cascading florals, fish, bird and paw prints or abstract images on a variety of backgrounds. The environmentally friendly washable dyes are ideal for strong, brilliant colour or can be diluted for soft and subtle transparent shades and hues. This range makes them ideal for both fashion and interiors and mixed media. Instruction is suitable for beginners, while experienced artists of any medium will have the opportunity to combine existing skills with a new range of expressive techniques.
