This course has been designated at a beginner level. No previous knowledge or skill is needed to take these courses.
Soft Pastel is an immediate, spontaneous medium that allows you to appreciate colour. The initial focus of this introductory course will be on application techniques, execution and how to use the medium within a painting. You will have the opportunity to play with many colour combinations, while trying out techniques. Learn layering, colour mixing and extending value ranges. Create small pieces in different subject areas such as landscape and still life before moving into individual study. Technical exercises will be taught so you can become more familiar with the medium and build confidence for future independent work.
